Sakura Wars, one of Sega’s best and popular franchises in Japan, will see its presence in North America once again later this year.
Earlier today, Sega announced Sakura Wars will be coming to PlayStation 4 on April 28.
But, what is Sakura Wars anyway? It’s a franchise which features tactical RPG, dating sim, and visual novel gameplay.
According to Sega, “The Imperial Combat Revue takes the stage as Tokyo’s defense force against a demon threat in this extravagant adventure. Soldiers in wartime, but theater performers in peacetime, the Revue’s Flower Division is not living up to their legacy and is at risk of being shut down. As newly appointed captain Seijuro Kamiyama, it’s up to you to turn the team around.”
This series reboot has brought back many people who worked in character design for the original series. Among the many contributors: Tite Kubo (creator of Bleach manga), Yukiko Horiguchi (Lucky Star anime character designer), BUNBUN, Fumikane Shimada, Ken Sugimori (Pokémon character designer and art director), Noizi Ito, Shigenori Soejima, and more.
Sakura Wars will be in Japanese with subtitles in English, Spanish, French and German.
Fans who purchase the physical editions will be receiving the game, reversible artwork, and a sticker set featuring the game’s main characters.
