Sony Interactive Entertainment acquired Insomniac Games on November 15, 2019, but the price Sony was unknown until tpday.
According to Sony’s most recent financial report, SIE paid US$229 million, mostly in cash, for the game developer known for creating franchises such as Ratchet & Clank and Spyro the Dragon.
Sony’s report also says “the amount may be adjusted by the end of fiscal year ending March 31, 2020, based on the final closing date financial statements of Insomniac Games.”
With the Sony purchase, Insomniac Games became the company’s 14th studio and “a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony.”
