Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Puyo Puyo 2 are coming to Sega Ages on Switch

Sega announced Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Puyo Puyo 2 are coming to Sega Ages on Switch. Sega Ages delivers remakes, ports and compilations of arcade and console game published by the company.

This time around, Sonic 2 and Puyo Puyo 2 (ぷよぷよ通) will come to Nintendo Switch on February 20 with new features for today’s fans.

Fans will see for the very first time in Sonic 2 the “drop dash” (originally introduced in Sonic Mania) which allows gamers “spin dash in mid-air to quickly gain speed.” Also, Knuckles the Echidna will be available from the start of the game. Knuckles made its first appearance in Sonic 3.

Other features players will see are Super Sonic Mode (which lets players start the game with an overpowered hedgehog), Time Trial mode with online rankings, and a competitive two-player mode.

For Puyo Puyo 2, players will finally see an official English localization for Western fans. This release will also feature, two-player online battles, online rankings, quick rewind, and colorblind mode.

Each game will cost $7.99 on the Nintendo Switch eShop in the Americas and Europe.
