Following the outbreak of the coronavirus spreading in mainland China and nearby countries, the Chinese League of Legends Pro League (LPL) announced its decision to postpone the second week of the tournament.
Via its English language account on Twitter, the LPL said the decision was taken “until we can ensure the safety and health of our players and fans.”
The LPL later apologizes for the unexpected disruption and says it will share any info as soon as possible.

To our fans, we sincerely apologize that it has come to this and we will share any and all info as soon as we can.

The Chinese government had already decided to suspend all professional sports events until the month of March.
In China alone, 80 persons have been reported dead since this deadly coronavirus started in December in the city of Wuhan.
