Brice Armstrong, the narrator of the Dragon Ball English Funimation dub, passed away on January 10 at the age of 84. According to the Mary Collins Agency, the narrator and voice actor died of natural causes.
Besides his work as narrator on Dragon Ball, he did the voices of Captain Ginyu and Lord Slug, and brought his voice to other anime franchises such as Yu Yu Hakusho, Lupin III, Case Closed and many others. Earlier in his career, he worked for many radio stations starting in the 1960s and was indicted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2004.
“Brice was the kindest, funniest person I’ve ever known. He was always humble, never in a bad mood–not the attitude you’d expect from such an industry legend,” said Christopher Sabat.
