Singer Hiroki Takahasi (高橋 ヒロシ, Takahashi Hiroshi) fell off the stage during the encore of the Dragon Ball Symphonic Adventure concert in Madrid, Spain.
According to Spanish international news agency EFE, the singer got injured after a falling two meters down from the stage at the Wizink Center. Police told EFE the unfortunate moment happened at 11:53 pm Spain time, as he was performing the last song of the night.
Health service officials transported Takahashi to the Gregorio Marañón Hospital. The EFE article also says he was admitted “with a severe prognosis after suffering injuries to the wrist and face.”
Twelve hours after the fall, Takahashi was still at the hospital.
The Facebook account of the Dragon Ball Symphonic Adventure shared a post stating Takahashi “was treated immediately by outstanding medical teams and he should be able to shortly get back to Japan where he will fully recover after a period of rest.”
The long post also says “Hiroki wishes to apologize to all spectators for not completing the final song of the encore and hopes very hard that they nevertheless enjoyed it greatly!”
Another post, this one from the singer’s Facebook account, goes directly to the fans (in Spanish):
“To our dear Spanish fans of DBSA:
I’m Sagae, Hiroki Takahashi’s manager.
I am very sorry for the inconvenience we have caused you.
I am with Takahashi at the hospital. The doctors have treated him very well and he can speak without problems. He knows very badly that you could not enjoy the concert until the end.
We will return to the peninsula! We hope you come to see us again! We would love to sing these fantastic songs with all of you.
And thank you very much for all your messages and for your genkidama! We have communicated them to Takahashi.
YasutakaSagae”
A video on YouTube by user Los Pezones de Monaka shares moments of the events, but not of the fall. People at the event asked fans not to share videos of the fall on social media in order to show respect to Takahashi.
Hiroki Takahashi is the original singer of the Japanese version of Dragon Ball.
It looks like it’s time for fans to send their #GenkidamaForHiroki.
If you wish to send him some support, we believe he will be overjoyed to receive any GENKIDAMA through social networks, which we will make sure to convey.#GenkidamaForHiroki @HIROKI241422 pic.twitter.com/nwRD32vpUG

#GenkidamaForHiroki https://t.co/vYHQUWQp9f
