Edward Snowden, American whistleblower known for having leaked highly-classified information from the National Security Agency, became aware of his anime self making an appearance in the Lupin III: Goodbye Partner TV special.
Though the special made its debut on January 25 in Japan and on November 17 in American digital platforms, it seems like Snowden just found out Lupin III mentioned him in the anime, where he is known as Edward Znoden. Snowden’s first reaction: “is this real.”
