Japanese toy maker Kawada has released two new Nanoblock sets based on Street Fighter characters Ryu and Ken.
For the ones who have not seen Nanoblock, it’s a line of construction toys used to build Lego-like versions of animals, world landmarks and buildings (like the Eiffel Tower), musical instruments, and Christmas themes.
Kawada has also worked with entertainment companies to create Nanoblock sets based on characters from Pokémon, Hello Kitty, Disney, Sanrio and Capcom.
In 2015, the company released four sets from Capcom’s Street Fighter franchise, including Ryu, Chun-Li, Dhalsim and Guile.
This time around, the 2019 Ryu Nanoblock has a much improved 3D 8-bit Lego look compared to its original 2015 version. Ryu’s face in the 2015 model does not have a detailed facial expression.
Also, Ken Masters gets to have a Nanoblock model for the first time and it looks as impressive as Ryu’s.
Take a look at the catalog here [http://www.diablock.co.jp/nanoblock/en/catalog] where you will find characters from popular franchises, such as Pikachu, Aggretsuko, Hatsune Miku, Edward and Alphonse (from Full Metal Alchemist), and a dragon that looks a lot like one from Dragon Ball, among others. There is even a flamingo which people from Florida may like.
The 230-piece Ryu’s Hadouken Nanoblock set and the 240-piece Ken’s Shouryuken Nanoblock set are currently on sale for ¥2200 each.
