Patent found for Sony PlayStation game cartridge

Let’s Go Digital, the Dutch tech site that discovered the PS5 dev kit patent, found the patent for a Sony PlayStation game cartridge submitted at the Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial in Brazil. The discovered patent was submitted on November 5th by Yujin Morisawa, Senior Art Director of Corporate Design at Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The cartridge patent was registered as an electronic game accessory, however, it is still unknown what device this cartridge will be used for. Previously, Sony has used cartridges for the PS Vita.

Has Sony had a change of mind and would like to return into the portable/mobile market after seeing the success of the Nintendo Switch and its small Lite model?
