Five years after the Japanese release of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water, the fifth game in the series, producer Keisuke Kikuchi stated he wants to work on a new Fatal Frame game for the Switch.
“Yeah, I do want to make a Fatal Frame on Switch,” Kikuchi told Nintendo Everything. “I think it’d be a ton of fun to play with the console in handheld mode and moving all around.”
Currently, Kikuchi is working on the upcoming Fairy Tail RPG scheduled for release in 2020, which keeps him very busy. Still, he would like to continue with the Koei Tecmo franchise.
Since the release of the last game, this is longest time the series has not seen a real sequel.
Also, Kikuchi mentioned he has “a lot of ideas” for an intellectual property he worked on previously, Deception.
Are you interested in seeing a new Fatal Frame title again? Kikushi feels “very happy” when people often asks him about Fatal Frame.
