Reggie Fils-Aimé has been inducted into the International Video Game Hall of Fame after being named the winner of the Walter Day Lifetime Achievement Award for his important role at Nintendo of America as President, COO, and Executive VP of Sales and Marketing.
Fils-Aimé gained celebrity status in the gaming community since E3 2004 with his aggressive speech.
Though he did wasn’t able to attend the event today, a recorded video of him uploaded by the International Video Game Hall of Fame was shared on YouTube.
In the video, he thanks the IVGHOF, Isaiah “Triforce” Johnson (for the introductory comments on his behalf), and of course, the players. “Lastly, I want to thank the players and the fans. Like you, I have a passion for video games, and I was a fan before I was ever an employee of Nintendo.”
Resending…they had a hiccup. This is now the official information on viewing the International Video Game Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. I won’t be there, but sent a couple special messages. https://t.co/yjJDGIvneQ

Acceptance video from the @ivghof event. Thank you @EMP_TriForce_GM for the introductory comments. I haven’t seen them, but I hear they were very touching. This recognition would not have happened without love from all the players and fans. https://t.co/fXzZePkEBD
