Following the footsteps of big gaming companies such as EA, Ubisoft and Blizzard, Rockstar has released its PC game app called Rockstar Games Launcher.
As the name implies, the software lets users start their games quickly, purchase other titles and game add-ons. To celebrate the launch of the app, Rockstar is giving away Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for a limited time. After starting the app, players can permanently add San Andreas to their Social Club account’s game library.
So far, there are only a few games available, such as GTA III, GTA V, GTA: Vice City, L.A. Noire: Complete Edition, Bully: Scholarship Edition, and Max Payne 3: The Complete Edition.
With the app, players can scan all their Rockstar digital and physical (disc) games, including the titles purchased at other digital stores.
Among the settings, there is an option that lets players “scan PC for supported installs.” However, if you have Rockstar games on Steam but are not installed, this scan won’t recognize them. It seems like the supported games have to be installed.
Today’s post on the company’s website says the app includes features such as cloud save functionality to all supported titles, automatic update for all Rockstar PC games, and “ways to follow all the latest Rockstar Games news from directly inside the Launcher.”
