US television networks have recognized the increasing popularity of gaming tournaments as eSports events are becoming mainstream online and on TV. In collaboration with Nintendo and eSports league ELEAGUE, CBS will broadcast ELEAGUE Presents The Nintendo 2019 World Championship.
The three-episode ELEAGUE series will focus on the tournaments that took place in Los Angeles in June 2019. Players will see the exciting moments from the best players around the world as they competed in Super Mario Maker 2, Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Bros. Ultimate.
It’s the second time ELEAGUE and Nintendo join forces. Both companies worked together on Super Smash. Bros Ultimate Invitational 2018 presented by ELEAGUE in 2018.
Fans will be able to watch the first episode on Sunday, Aug. 25, at 1 p.m. ET on CBS. The remaining episodes will air on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 14, at 1:30 p.m., also on CBS.
