Only a day after releasing its games with an unexpected and mandatory login to play offline, the game dev announced its Bethesda.net login won’t be required for Doom games anymore.
Just before noon today, Bethesda posted a tweet to its followers with the following message:
“Update on our new classic DOOM releases:
The BethesdaNet login requirement was included for the Slayers Club, to reward members for playing the classic DOOM games.
The login should be optional, and we are working on changing the requirement to optional now.”
“We will update everyone when a fix is ready.”
We will update everyone when a fix is ready.

Now that it is known why Bethesda wanted players to log in, the company will soon stop seeing many fans sharing their Bethesda.net login memes.
For Bethesda and gamers, this inconvenience will soon be case closed.
For now, take a look at this dog and this situation will hopefully be forgotten soon. Good doggy!
