Netflix reveals the first trailer of The Witcher

At the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, Netflix revealed the first trailer of The Witcher with Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia.

This live-action series does not follow the video game version that some fans may be familiar with. Instead, the show will be an adaptation of the short stories and novels of the fantasy series written by Andrzej Sapkowski.

For fans familiar with the book version, the first season will be covering short stories from The Last Wish.

According to the show’s Netflix page, “The witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.”

Though a launch date hasn’t been announced, the show is expected to be available sometime later this year on Netflix.
