EA and FIFA announced today that the EA Sports FIFA 19 Global Series has broken previous viewership records, generating “more than 680 million minutes watched, a 60 percent annual increase and 61 million total views, a 25 percent year-over-year increase.”
There are three main reasons, accoring to EA, for the significant increase in viewingship: the numbers of official league partners this year (17) versus last year’s (8), the first-ever FIFA eNations Cup, and “the first-ever eChampions League in collaboration with UEFA crowned NYC_Chris as its inaugural respective champion.”
However, the season is not over yet. Starting on July 7, the FIFA 19 Global Series Playoffs, which will take place in Germany, will begin on July 5-7 with the Xbox ladder in Hamburg, followed by the PlayStation 4 bracket on July 12-14 in Berlin.
