Niantic Labs has recently filed lawsuit against hackers that are supposedly in charge of modified versions of Pokémon Go and Ingress.
Players who wants to make use of the hacked version are asked to delete the original version of the app to be able to install the modified one.
Once installed, players are able to use tools that essentially circumvent the rules. PokeGo++, according to Business Insider, allows players to “do things like automatically walk in circles to hatch Pokémon eggs, spot exactly where rare monsters are hiding, and even spoof their GPS location.”
Niantic is suing hackers of a group called Global++, including Ryan “ElliotRobot” Hunt (the leader), Alen Hundur (main developer), and 20 other person involved.
The Pokémon Go developer is currently seeking a preliminary injunction in order to stop the distribution and development of that modified app immediately by Global++.
The lawsuit also states that Global++ has been making earning money with the sale of “subscriptions” of the modified apps.
