As the release of the long-awaited video game draws near, Square Enix announced its partnership with music producer and Grammy Award winner Skrillex and renowned singer/songwriter Hikaru Utada (宇多田 ヒカル, Utada Hikaru) to co-produce the opening theme song Face My Fears for Kingdom Hearts III.
According to Square Enix, Skrillex (a real fan of the Square Enix/Disney franchise), originally planned to do a remix of the previously revealed song Don’t Think Twice by Utada. Still, their developed friendship has led them to work together for KH3. Both Skrillex and Utada have also been working on the upcoming song alongside Poo Bear, famous record producer.
Hikaru Utada has been with Square Enix and Kingdom Hearts since before the franchise made its debut in 2002.
