Blizzard to open its own eSports arena in Los Angeles in October

Blizzard announced earlier today it will open its own eSports arena in Los Angeles this October in Burbank, CA. The new place, called Blizzard Arena Los Angeles, will be the first and newest destination for all its eSports tournaments of Hearthstone, Overwatch, among others. Blizzard hopes to become the number one destination for all eSport competitions.

Two events are already scheduled for October.

The Overwatch Contenders Playoffs will take place on October 7 and 8 and will become the inaugural event at Blizzard Arena Los Angeles. Days later, on October 13, the Summer Championship for the Hearthstone Championship starts, with the best players becoming the last contestants to enter the Hearthstone World Championship starting early next year.

While at the Arena, players will be able to check out a retail store featuring “a rotating selection of gear and goods based on the event taking place at the time.”
