Earlier today, Square Enix announced Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is coming to the West in 2018. The next installment of the DQ franchise still not does have a specific release date, but more information about the Western release will be revealed in the Fall.
According to Square Enix, the upcoming chapter in the DQ franchise ” follows the adventure of a hero who must solve the mystery of his fate with the aid of a charming cast of supporting characters.”
Well-known mangaka Akira Toriyama (creator of Dragon Ball and DQ character designer) and veteran music composer Koichi Sugiyama (especially for all DQ titles since the first one back in 1986) bring their experience once again for Dragon Quest XI.
Series creator Yuji Horii also added that the localization process has already started. DQ11 is being localized into 5 languages, including English.
The game is being released in Japan for the PS4 and Nintendo 3DS this weekend, but Square Enix didn’t mention when will players see it on the Nintendo Switch. As you may remember, DQXI was one of the first games announced for the Switch, when Nintendo was using the code-name Nintendo NX to refer to Switch.
