Virgin Mobile becomes the first US iPhone-only mobile carrier

Earlier today, Sir Richard Branson announced Virgin Mobile has become the first US iPhone-only mobile carrier, becoming the latest Apple partner and offering a plan with perks unlike any other.

Under the Inner Circle plan, people who buy an iPhone can get six months of unlimited data, calls and text for just $1. People who sign up by Monday, July 31 can get a total of 12 months of service for $1 instead of 6 months at the same price. After the promotional period ends, whether it’s six or twelve months, the price returns to $50 per month, a very competitive price.

Just like similar plans in the industry, the unlimited plan comes with some restrictions such as 4G data up to 23 gigabytes before data speeds are throttled, video streams limited at 480p and music streams up to 500 kilobits per second.

Still, Virgin includes perks that can definitely attract customers, including:

• A round-trip companion ticket to the United Kingdom on Virgin Atlantic
• One night’s stay at Virgin Hotels
• $170 savings on an introductory offer to Virgin Wines club
• Up to 20-percent off flights on Virgin America
• 20-percent off on the Virgin Sport San Francisco Festival of Fitness (Oct. 13-15)

Interested clients can pre-order the iPhone of their choice (iPhones SE, 6, 6S, 6S Plus, 7, and 7 Plus) and the Inner Circle offer at VirginMobileUSA.com and will receive the smartphone by June 27.
