While fans of previous game consoles are still waiting for their favorite characters to return, Bubsy surprises fans with a new game this Fall. Billionsoft, owner of the Accolade, GT Interactive Software, and Humongous Entertainment brands, is bringing back Accolade’s mascot. The company seems focused on bringing back game franchises from years past. Its web site shows the message “Bringing Back Your Favorite Games.”
Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back, coming this Fall to Steam and PlayStation 4, is the newest title in the franchise since Bubsy 3D: Furbitten Planet was released in 1996. Fans also saw the re-release of the first two titles of the franchise, Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind (1993) and Bubsy 2 (1994), in Steam two years ago included in Bubsy Two-Fur.
According to Accolade, “Bubsy must use all of his classic moves and a few new ones to dodge and out bobcat a battalion of Woolies, not mention the gnarliest UFO bosses to ever grace a Bubsy adventure.” He’ll travel the planet searching for the Golden Fleece.
Accolade shall bring memories of other games to gamers from the 80s and 90s, with titles such as Test Drive, Star Control 2, before French publisher Infogrames purchased the company in 1999.
Welcome back, Accolade and Bubsy!
Even Sonic noticed Bubsy’s return:
Bubsy, is that really you? Blink twice if you want us to save you.

For more info, check out these social media accounts about Bubsy on Accolade, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn?!. I didn’t know Bubsy went to New York University to get a BS on Film/Cinema/Video Studies.
