MegaCon Orlando to honor victims of Pulse Nightclub shooting

For the very first time, MegaCon Orlando will be honoring the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting.

As the first anniversary of the tragic shooting that killed 49 people and wounded 53 others approaches, the project Love Is Love, organized by comic book and screen writer Marc Andreyko (DC Comics), will start at MegaCon Orlando on the evening of Friday, March 26th, at the Destination Lounge inside the Orange County Convention Center, with a fundraiser cocktail reception and book signing from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will follow with a live auction the next day starting at 8 p.m. (doors opening at 7:30 p.m.), hosted by Dan Didio from DC Comics.

Among the top talent of the comic book industry to be present at the events are Tom King, Scott Snyder, Gail Simone, Cat Staggs, Mitch Gerads, Jason Aaron, Phil Jimenez, Dan Didio and Marc Andreyko. A gallery with donated art from Love Is Love, a group of more than 300 artists who contributed to the creation of a comic anthology, will be displayed at MegaCon Orlando.

Interested fans can buy tickets for Meet & Greet Comic Legends & Creators, with special guest George Perez, for his only appearance at this year’s MegaCon Orlando.

All proceeds will benefit Equality Florida, the state’s educational charity and advocacy organization dedicated to the full equality of the LGBT community.
