With a headset that looks a lot like a Gear VR, fans of Goku and friends will be able to jump into the world of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality using the upcoming BotsNew Characters VR Dragon Ball Z.
Megahouse Corporation has already developed BotsNew apps that work on iOS and Android smartphones, such as the BotsNew VR Player, BotsNew WARS, BotsNew Diver, BotsNew of the Dead, and Urban Coaster Mobile. However, this seems to be the first time Megahouse Corporation, a subsidiary of Bandai Namco, is getting serious by bringing Dragon Ball Z to the BotsNew lineup of VR/AR smartphone titles.
Along with the trailer, Megahouse released the product information of the BotsNew Characters VR Dragon Ball Z. As seen on the page, the DBZ VR/AR device will make its debut in late June in Japan for ¥12,000 (about US$ 110.46), and it will include a Focus Dial, Pupil Distance Dial (to adjust distance), and a 120-degree view. The set also comes with two hand sensors and a VR mat.
Will this new DBZ VR game bring fans closer to VR/AR? Will it be a fun game? These questions should not be on the minds of DBZ fans, especially for the ones who have not yet tried out what Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality is all about. The trailer is indeed fun, though. Watch as this veteran fan does a Kame-hame-ha in front of two kids.
