Earlier today, Facebook announced the arrival of the app Facebook 360 for Gear VR.
The new app lets users experience 360-degree photos and videos from Facebook with an easy-to-use interface, making it easy for users to find content, whether it’s news and reports, travel adventures, sports, and more. There are already over 25 million photos and over 1 million videos in 360 degrees.
Among the first channels of interest to subscribe: CNN VR, 360 Videos, NASA VR.
After logging in, users will find four feeds, including:
- Explore: Discover some of the most interesting and popular 360 content on Facebook from media companies, organizations and individual creators.
- Following: Experience 360 content that your friends have posted on Facebook as well as 360 content from Pages and people you follow.
- Saved: Find all the 360 content you’ve saved from News Feed ready for you to enjoy at a more convenient time.
- Timeline: Relive your memories in a new way through your own 360 photo and video uploads.
For the social experience, users will be able to Like, Save, Share and Hide the content they see. More social features will be added soon.
