Castlevania TV show is coming to Netflix in 2017

Veterans gamers who have played the franchise since its inception at the arcades and the NES in the 1980s may be the ones extremely surprised by the announcement that a Castlevania TV show is coming to Netflix in 2017. For now, all that is known about the upcoming series on Netflix, according to the press release, is “Castlevania Season 1, Part 1 Coming to Netflix in 2017.”

While this is a positive sign for fans who love the franchise, there is still no knowledge about the upcoming series. It is still unknown, for example, if Adi Shankar, the producer responsible for the Power Rangers reboot, is still responsible for the Castlevania TV show. About a year and a half ago, Shankar mentioned he was working on a super-violent Castlevania animated series based on Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse for the NES.

The Castlevania franchise focuses on the adventures of the Belmont family against the evil Count Dracula.
