The world of sci-fi has lost a princess today. Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher dies at age 60 this morning. Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars films, suffered a heart attack while on a plane minutes before landing at Los Angeles on December 23.
“It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourds confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning,” Simon Halls, a representative for Billie, told the media. “She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly.”
Her filming fame made a comeback thanks to Star Wars films with Episode VI. In July of this year, she and others had just finished recording scenes for Episode VIII.
While many celebrities have been sharing their feelings for the passing of Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds, Carrie’s mother, shared a meesage on Facebook:
The entire galaxy will certainly miss its brave princess.
