Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS will only be played in 2D

Fans of 3D will be disappointed next time they get to play a Mario game because Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS will only be played in 2D.

As seen on box art acquired by GameStop, a message at the bottom of the front cover art says the game “Plays only in 2D” in black letters inside a white rectangular.

While fans who own a 2DS won’t be feeling bad about this missing feature the 3DS is known for, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS may perhaps be the first 3DS-only Mario title not featuring 3D.

If you are still interested in getting this title, mark your calendar for December 2nd.
