As the release date for the game approaches, the team at Microsoft got a great reason to celebrate: Gears of War 4 is finally going gold. The game’s main initial development is now complete.
As a way to commemorate the game’s milestone, people at developer The Coalition had a big party. Even Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Xbox boss Phil Spencer were present at the celebration in Vancouver.
The upcoming launch will be the first-ever title that will be played on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs, part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program, supporting cross-play for all modes of play.
It’s an exciting moment for Microsoft since the company purchased the franchise from Epic Games for an unknown amount of money.
For fans of Gears of War, Microsoft and The Coalition also released the Launch trailer. GoW4 will make its debut on October 11.
