The Pokémon Company announced it will launch the Pokémon Generations anime shorts on YouTube starting on September 16 at noon Eastern / 9 AM Pacific. The miniseries will highlight the best moments of all Pokémon generations players have experienced in the original games such as Pokémon Red & Blue.
Each episode will last from three to five minutes and it will tell cover the stories of the first six Pokémon generations.
The 18-episode miniseries will debut this Friday with two episodes.
Along with the trailer, the company also released concept art for the miniseries.
“The new animated series Pokémon Generations revisits each generation of the Pokémon video game series to shed new light on some timeless moments. From the earliest days in the Kanto region to the splendor of the Kalos region, go behind the scenes and witness Pokémon history with new eyes! These bite-sized adventures, about 3 to 5 minutes long, will be released every week through December 23, 2016.”
The company had previously released Pocket Monsters: The Origin anime three years ago, telling the story of the first generation of Pokémon.
