The highly-anticipated PS4 title The Last Guardian has been delayed with a new December 6 release, says a PlayStation.Blog post written by SCE’s Shuhei Yoshida.
In his post, Yoshida says the presence of many bugs “than anticipated” were found during the final stages of the game’s development, and to deliver “the most polished experience possible” envisioned for fans of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, this difficult decision had to be made.
“A delay is a difficult decision, particularly with this game, but we have encountered more bugs than anticipated while in the final stages of development. To ensure that The Last Guardian delivers on the experience that the game’s creators have envisioned, we need to take the extra time to work on those issues.”
The game, in development since 2007 and shown to the public in 2009 then as a PS3 game, has experienced many delays.
“Our development continues to push itself to the fullest and we look forward to revealing new content toward launch.”
