During today’s presentation in NYC, Sony officially announced the PlayStation 4 Pro, the company’s high-end version of its successful gaming console. The PS4 Pro will be on sale in Japan, Europe and North America on November 10, 2016, for 44,980 yen, €399, £349, and US$399.
This occasion marks the fist time a game company launches a higher-end version of a current video game system; in this case, it is happening during the middle of the PS4’s lifecycle.
Owners of 4K TVs will be able to play many PS4 titles with much better quality. Among the new features: the ability to watch 4K streaming video via online services YouTube and Netflix.
Sony will also add support for HDR imaging technology to all PS4 consoles to offer a more realistic and vivid visuals.
Besides the PS4 Pro, Sony also presented new devices, including the new Wireless Controller for PS4 (5,980 yen, $59 USD, €59 and £54), a redesigned PlayStation Camera (5,980 yen, $59 USD, €59 and £54), Vertical stand for both PS4 consoles (2,280 yen, $24 USD, €19 and £16), and a Platinum Wireless Headset (18,000 yen, $159 USD, €179 and £129).
The PS4 Slim will be smaller and lighter than the previous models. It will also consume less power. It will cost 29,980 yen, US$299, EU€299 and £259, depending on your region.
