According to information technology company Similar Web, the recently-released Android app Pokémon Go will have more US daily active users than Twitter on Android devices.
The enormous popularity of Pokémon has already helped The Pokémon Company and Niantic achieve lots of installs on Android devices to surpass the popular dating app Tinder two days after the release of Pokémon Go. As of July 8th, the Pokémon app got install on 5.16% of Android devices, more than 2x what Tinder has achieved.
Also, Pokémon Go has surpassed social media apps such as Snapchat, Instagram and Messenger on usage time with an average of 43 minutes and 23 seconds versus its closest competitor WhatsApp with 30 minutes and 27 seconds.
Even though the app is only available in four countries, the Android apk version has been downloaded by many other users around the world, bypassing the official Google Play store to get the game. Users visited apkmirror.com on July 5th more than 600,000 times, while 4 million visitors checked the site on July 6th. Stats show 50.1% of users visiting apkmirror.com came from the US, with 10.8% from Brazil.
