According to Twitter users NStyles and Cheesemeister, Nintendo didn’t show the NX at E3 because it was worried about imitators. After the recent E3 Expo where Nintendo showed off the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Shigeru Miyamoto mentioned the following statement during the company’s shareholders meeting in Tokyo yesterday. NStyles was present at the event live-tweeting what was happening, while Cheesemeister translated NStyles’ messages to English.
.@NStyles Miyamoto: Normally we would've shown the #NX at #E3, but we didn't. We're worried about imitators if we release info too early.

.@NStyles Miyamoto: I heard VR was a hot topic at #E3, so I went to check it out. It was on display, but it wasn't what I expected.

Also, Miyamoto had little to say about virtual reality at the company’s meeting. He said he did check VR games at E3 but was not amazed by it. He would like to see games with long periods of gameplay. Nintendo is also doing its research about virtual reality.
