New Sonic the Hedgehog game is coming in 2017

During the anniversary celebration of Sega’s mascot in the city of Tokyo, Sonic Team’s Takashi Iizuka announced a new Sonic the Hedgehog game is coming in 2017.

Though no more details were mentioned, more information will be revealed during the Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary Party in San Diego, CA, on July 22nd.

For fans of Sega’s blue hero, it will be another opportunity to play as Sonic the Hedgehog in a completely new adventure since the last one in Sonic Generations (released in 2011).
