Recently, the ESA has added the Virtual Reality Xbox One category to the E3 web site. After Polygon reported about the presence of two new Xbox One models, one of them code-named Scorpio capable of supporting the Oculus Rift (though Microsoft is still in talks with Facebook’s Oculus VR), the new category seen first on NeoGaf lists the following companies as developers to bring virtual reality to Xbox One: Rebellion Developments, Maximum Games, Readily Information Company, 3DRudder, Bigben Interactive, and Immersion Corporation.
Scorpio is supposed to be four times more powerful than the current model and capable of supporting 4K games thanks to a more powerful GPU.
Could Scorpio be the way Microsoft and Xbox will offer virtual reality games? We’ll have to wait until E3 2016 to find out.
