Bandai Namco’s Pac-Man 256 is coming to consoles and Steam on June 21, says the company’s European branch. The original mobile game, based on the glitched level 256 in Pac-Man, made its debut last year for Android and iOS and found success. It’s an endless maze in which Pac-Man also has to escape from ghosts while using power-ups and power pellets to survive.
The game, developed by Hipster Whale (creators of Crossy Road) and 3 Sprockets (creators of Cubemen series), will come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam on Windows PC, and will “play with up to 4 friends via the local co-op multiplayer mode” not seen in the mobile version. Social sharing and 10 additional themes will also be included in the console and Steam versions.
“We have really enjoyed working with BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment and Hipster Whale on PAC-MAN 256 for mobile, and having the opportunity to ship it on the latest generation of consoles and PC is the icing on the cake for us! We can’t wait to see how much fun players have with it,” said Seon Rozenblum, Director at 3 Sprockets.
The game will cost €4,99, depending on your region.
