Today, Sony Computer Entertainment announced the PlayStation VR is coming to stores on October 26 worldwide for $399. Finally, players can start saving up for Sony’s virtual reality device which will be competing against the Oculus Rift and other VR devices.
Though Sony at first said the price for the VR device would be $399, it will not include the PlayStation Camera, a required add-on to make the PlayStation VR work. Currently, the PS Camera is being sold for $60.
More than 230 developers and publishers are currently creating software for the upcoming device, including a new Star Wars Battlefront for the PSVR.
One additional interesting feature is the Cinematic mode, which according to Sony, “lets users enjoy a variety of content in a large virtual screen while wearing the headset.”
