The game publisher responsible for hit titles such as Call of Duty, Guitar Hero and Skylanders may feel disappointed as Activision says it will not have its own booth at E3 2016.
The absence of a dedicated section for Activision at E3 is something many fans may not have expected. The company also did not explain a reason for not having a booth.
“In June, we’re going to be at E3 showcasing gameplay from Infinity Ward’s ambitious new game,” says the post on the Activision blog written by community manager Scott Lowe. We’re looking forward to sharing exciting new details about the next great Call of Duty game in partnership with our friends at PlayStation. We’re proud to be participating in this premier video game event, but won’t have an Activision booth on the show floor.”
Activision is not the only game company that has changed its mind about not having a booth inside E3. Electronic Arts won’t have a booth inside the expo, but it will do its EA Play event outside the Los Angeles Convention Center, the site of the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
For Activision, it will be the second time the company won’t have a booth at the expo; it was absent on the show floor in 2008.
