According to a press release, Capcom has shipped 3 million units of Monster Hunter X across Japan, including digital sales of game via Nintendo eShop as well as download cards. Since its release on November 28, 2015 in Japan, the franchise still shows its popularity with more than 36 million units sold since its first release in 2004.
Capcom wants to expand its successful franchise starting in January 2016 with the “Monster Hunter Festa ’16” event that will take place in five important cities across Japan, and the “Monster Hunter the Real” attraction at Universal Studios Japan.
Since its release last month, it only took five days to ship 2 million units across Japan.
