Zangief returns in Street Fighter V

Capcom announced today Russian pro wrestler Zangief returns in Street Fighter V. The announcement should not be a surprise for those who have come to fight as or against Zangief; he made his first appearance in the fighting ring in Street Fighter II.

This time in Street Fighter V, the Russian “Red Cyclone” features new V-Skill called Iron Muscle in which he absorbs one attack from a rival, leaving Zangief with recoverable health. By holding down medium kick and medium punch plus pressing a direction, Zangief will start to close in his opponent slowly. When releasing the buttons, the Russian fighter will flex “his muscles and hits the opponent if close enough.” His V-Trigger, called the Cyclone Lariat, makes Zangief spin quickly pulling the opponent in close, and eventually hitting his rival multiple times by activating this V-Trigger.

For players anxious to see Zangief again, Capcom released a trailer and pictures of the fighter in action.
