Today at the GameStop Managers Conference, Nintendo announced the compact-size New Nintendo 3DS is coming to North America on Sept. 25, in a special bundle which includes the game Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, one amiibo card, and two cover plates, all for $219.99.
The North American branch of Nintendo put a hold on the release of this model, unlike the company branches in Europe and Asia that released both models of the New Nintendo 3DS (compact and XL). Since February, people in North America have only been able to get the XL model.
Also, Nintendo announced the New Nintendo 3DS XL – Hyrule Edition, for $199.99, on the same day of release for The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, October 30th.
Besides the recently-announced New Nintendo 3DS models, three new Wii Remote Plus controllers were revealed, inspired by famous characters Bowser, Toad and Yoshi, and will also be on sale for $39.99 each. The Bowser and Toad remotes will be on sale on Sept. 11, while the Yoshi one has to wait until October 16th.
Finally, Nintendo mentioned the arrival of a new Bowser AR card (to be used with the Photos with Mario app) free of charge, by simply adding $10 to personal eShop accounts, and the arrival of the Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer accessory for gamers who still own the Nintendo 3DS models.
Both new New Nintendo 3DS bundles, the Wii remotes and the new Bowser AR card will be available exclusive only at GameStop.
