Sega surprised fans this past weekend during an event in Japan with the revelation that Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming to the PS4. A post on 4Gamer states the PS4 version of this game will be available on 2016.
The free-to-play RPG game has been out in Japan since 2012 for Windows PCs, and on PS Vita since February 2013, both available only in Japan and Southeast Asia.
An English-language version of the game was previously announced during Penny Arcade in 2012, and was supposed to be available in the first months of 2013, but the game got delayed. So far, Sega has not mentioned anything about a version of the game outside of Asia. An English-language patch does exist for interested gamers.
Attendees at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show will be able to check out the PS4 version of Phantasy Star Online 2.
Sega also announced the arrival of Reborn: Episode 4, the upcoming episode for the title.
