During the D23 Expo 2015 today, Disney announced lands based on the Star Wars franchise are coming to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios (inside Walt Disney World) in Orlando, FL.
“I am thrilled to announce the next chapter in the long and exciting history between Disney Parks and Star Wars,” said Bob Iger, Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO. “We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single themed land expansion ever. These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”
For fans of Star Wars, it could the best way to explore the galaxy, far, far away, in person. It seems Disney wants to apply its acquisition of the Star Wars franchise in any way possible. Unfortunately, no mention of the debut of these attractions has been made yet, but for millions of fans, their wish is becoming a reality.
