Arc System Works acquires all Technōs Japan franchises including Double Dragon

Arc System Works announced today it acquired the rights to all Technōs Japan video games, including classic franchises such as Double Dragon, Renegade, and Super Dodge Ball, on June 1st, 2015.

The company has created a page on its website that welcomes Technōs Japan, mentioning it has plans to bring back from the digital grave some of Technōs’ old franchises.

Arc System Works already has two fighting franchises, BlazBlue and Guilty Gear. With the addition of Double Dragon and other fighting titles, this purchase could give ASW the chance to make a fighting game with all the characters from various titles in one, just like we’ve seen in Smash or Capcom vs. Marvel.

The former rights holder, Million, purchased the intellectual properties of Technōs Japan in 1996.
