Arrowhead Game Studios’ game director Emil Englund announced yesterday big improvements coming soon for the Gauntlet reboot released on Sept. 2014. The main reason: “We were never fully satisfied with how Gauntlet turned out.”
In the post, Englund said: “We have big improvements and a few new features coming up for Gauntlet! Something which we know a lot of you were crying out for.”
This major update won’t just be a serious of simple fixes, but changes to “the core of the game to turn it into what we originally envisioned,” says Englund. “This will mean a free major content update for the game, including improvements to the Campaign and the Colosseum as well as a brand new game mode. I’m pretty sure I was allowed to tell you about the game mode…”
Not only the developer will make great improvements to the game, it will also take over the online communities related to the game.
For people not familiar with this franchise, Gauntlet, according to Wikipedia, is a “series of hack-and-slash-style dungeon crawl arcade games” which made its debut in the arcades in 1985, originally developed by Atari Games, and brought to many consoles throughout the years with various sequels.
