Former Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi has raised $1 million for Bloodstained, his next game, in one day. The current $1 million pledge is twice the amount of the original goal. It seems like a great day for Igarashi who worked at Konami for almost 10 years and was in charge of the Castlevania franchise; he left the company in 2013.
Bloodstained, a spiritual sequel of Castlevania, is “exploration-focused, side-scrolling platformer featuring RPG and crafting elements.” As Miriam, the main character, you are “an orphan scarred by an alchemist curse which slowly crystallizes your skin.”
Igarashi is not alone in the making of Bloodstained. He has the cooperation of Michiru Yamane as music composer and Inti Creates as developer. Once the game is complete, it will be available for the PS4, Xbox One, and Steam (PC/Mac/Linux).
With the main goal already reached, as well as others with the additional money, interested gamers will be seeing a 2nd playable character, a Nightmare difficulty mode, an artbook with hardcover, Cheat Codes, as well as the voice acting of David Hayter (known as the original voice of Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid).
[Update]: Next goal: Local Co-op (at $1.25 million).
