Great news for DBZ fans. A new DBZ anime series will premiere in Japan this coming July. Since the conclusion of Dragon Ball GT in 1997, fans have only been able to see a few new characters introduced in new movies, but no new anime. Many fans have wanted a sequel to the one anime that introduced Japanese animation to lots of people around the world.
The story for the new anime takes place years after Majin Buu is defeated and people lives peacefully on Earth. As for the plot and who will be the antagonist, producer Osamu Nozaki did say there will be “an enemy even stronger than Buu or Feeza may appear…”
Masako Nozawa, the voice of Goku, said this about the name of the new anime: “We’ve always used the word ‘chō’ (Super) with Dragon Ball in commercials, games and the like, but the fact that the series titled Dragon Ball Super is beginning is the best thing ever.”
For millions of fans, it will be great to go back to the couch and watch a new DBZ anime written by the original creator of the manga, Akira Toriyama. Dragon Ball Super will make its debut in July every Sunday at 9:00 am on Fuji TV.
