Nintendo fans in the early 1990s should remember the adventures of Link in A Link to the Past not just in the game but also in the issues of Nintendo Power. The monthly adventures of the hero of Hyrule seen in the magazine were put together later into a graphic novel format in 1993, but was never brought back again. For fans of the franchise who may have missed this serialized manga version or for those who may want to re-live the adventure, Viz Media’s print division Perfect Square announced it will be bringing back the story and art by the late creator Shotaro Ishinomori.
“‘The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past’ is such a rare book, showcasing world-famous manga creator Shotaro Ishinomori’s incredible art with the classic Nintendo story of Link and his quest to save Princess Zelda against all odds. We are honoured and excited to make the publication available once again to North American readers from the Perfect Square library,” said Beth Kawasaki, Senior Editorial Director at Perfect Square.
For fans of the franchise young and old, this Legend of Zelda comic could be a great addition to their collection.
The graphic novel version of “The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past” will be at stores on May 5, 2015.
