Japanese voice actor Chikao Ōtsuka passes away

Fans of gaming and anime who have seen and played the Japanese versions of One Piece, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot, Lupin the 3rd, Kingdom Hearts, Astro Boy, Dragon Ball, Sonic the Hedgehog and many others, may have recognized a common voice: the voice of Chikao Ōtsuka (大塚 周夫 Ōtsuka Chikao).

With an ample role in the voice over industry for gaming and anime, it is hard to not have listened to his talent. Unfortunately, Chikao Ōtsuka passed away away at the age of 85 from ischemic heart failure. He was last working for Aoni Productions, a Japanese talent agency representing various voice artists. He leaves behind his son, Akio Ōtsuka, who also works as a voice artist.
